The service is not great. Tried to open a current account, but because I am a sole trager they tried to force me to open a business account. it was a long winded and humiliating process. I contacted HMRC and they explained to me in writing that a sole trader doesn't need to have a business account.On another occasion I tried to get a loan and the employee didn't even check my credit rating. He was micro managed by on of the reception staff. She thought that I shouldn't have help. Not a good branch.

Shocking customer service just closed my account on the spot being told had to wait 2hrs to access my safety deposit box even tho bank was empty & 3 employees on the floor ? Asked why the long wait ? O your in a queue there is people before you they have gone shopping ??? Was like I am a paying customer trying to access my valuables but being told to join the invisible line ? I here in front of you but your telling me to wait till people who are not even in the bank currently to be seen first even tho it?s a walk in system not appointments ? BM yes so account closed complaint logged .

A friend of mine is a business manager with Metro Bank and told me about the 5 for 5 Magic Money Club, so I brought my 12 year old daughter along with her bags of money, and we walked over to the magic coin machine to look at the instructions, since all of the cashiers were busy.Sadly our only interaction was to be greeted by a rude, miserable middle-aged male employee with glasses who barked 'you can't use it if you don't have an account with us'.So instead of opening an account, we left, and subsequently Metro miss out on a new account holder because we used a Coin Star machine and opened the account with Revolut instead.Nice job Metro - ruined my daughter's day and lost a potential customer because being anything other than downright rude was too much of an effort.

My son tried to upgrade his cash account to a current account as he is now 18 and they left him sitting in a chair waiting for over a hour without even acknowledging he was there.. disgusting

I had the first visit to their Crawley branch couple of weeks ago. Impressive building, convenient location. Staff was amazing, helpful and very polite. I got all my issues solved. Thank you guys!
