I haven't been to St Swithuns church yet. I am quite old, I live hundreds of miles away from it now. When I was a child I lived not far away, and I looked at the square tower from the window. I've always wanted to visit this church, am intrigued by it, have been since childhood! That church is calling to me!

The bells don?t even sound good and go off so often and long creating noise pollution in the area. The bells even go off late at night for whatever reason.

Rev Andrew Hawken conducted our beautiful wedding amidst the COVID chaos with much care and good humour. We cannot thank Rev Hawken and the St Swithun's choir and organist enough for making our day so special!

I love this church building greatly. It feels like home. I love a whole lot of the people who go there too very much indeed. They've become greatly loved and admired friends in the faith all.A great place in the centre of old East Grinstead town to sit and reflect, and to pray and be still. And know that God the Lord is real. And that God is love, loved here by those who attend at the local well known St Swithun's Anglican church. It's a traditional non high type church, Anglo Catholic, Church of England or C of E, town Parish Church. Definitely a place where God can be encountered, if you're one who's wanting to seek for Him. Christianity is after all, all about the believing, in Jesus Christ as Lord.Fantastic enjoyable services on Sunday and midweek. Evening prayers for those who are interested in attending too as well. God's honoured here in the services. Hymns traditional happily do predominate in the worship with all of their truth of words. But too some well known more modern songs are also featured in the worship, in a complimentary fashion.Great new look to the church in recent times completed. But the history is all preserved too and protected along with the new. And I'm hearing it appears to have blown a few of the proverbial old cobwebs away, of people's minds generally locally. The change is to a more open plan modern look, to the traditional historic church building appearance inside. Changing many local people's way of thinking about the place successfully more for the better. As a more modern looking welcoming brighter appearing church. Bringing inside ever more increasing numbers of new curious visitors. All eagerly tempted within, by the views through the new see through glass doors to explore. In actual fact in truth it was always a very welcoming, beautiful and atmospheric place to be honest. With genuine, wonderfully welcoming and caring people, making up the regular congregation and the resident clergy. All of the clergy here are very good to talk to. Do come in and experience this church for yourselves if you haven't done so yet. I encourage you. It's a worthwhile enriching experience to visit this lovely church and drink in all of its rich tapestry of local and national Christian history. Please don't forget the excellent value for money tea rooms either, available once more to sociable visit of a Saturday morning. A hidden much undiscovered gem of Saturday morning life in EG. Also serving there lovely hot cooked basic breakfast or lunch foods like a filling bacon sandwich.Men...don't miss out on the regular offered relaxation of the Men's fellowship night meetings called Men's Relax group. Who meet often now again usually on a Monday night in the church after hours. Please do ask to come along and experience the church then, you men all, in the relaxing and spiritual blessing of a Monday evening. It's not a service as such, but more a time of contemplation and enjoyment of music in an awesome church setting. Somewhere I myself much need to get back to enjoying. Bless all here at St Swithuns Church in East Grinstead. I've missed you all a lot. More than I can say.Great weekly morning group prayer meetings here too. As well as the Mother's Union's meetings regularly, and the amazing hard working gardening team and other church volunteer groups maintaining the church building and grounds. Who are all inspirational. Lots of dedicated folks here who help, pray and assist anyone who should need to experience the love of God. If you love church as the body of Christ then you'll love St Swithun's Anglican church in East Grinstead in West Sussex.

Lovely parish church of East Grinstead. Very interesting

Beautiful church with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.Quite a mixture of styles and predominately grey inside. Its lofty Nave, Chancel and dark interior give it character and dignity. The rather splendid organ case was unexpected, and the name of the organ builders, Morgan and Smith of Brighton, somewhat surprising. I'm not sure that they're still in business?Anyway,I'm pleased I visited.

I like the big difference between this kind of churches and others en Europe with the crypts around it. Inside is very nice, have beautiful stained glasses.
