Probably one of the best small supermarket shops I've been to in a long time with a variety of items and the fresh fruit and veg was very good.

Probably best avoid if you're on a budget, it is expensive but generally good quality. The bread rolls from nearby Truffles bakery are exceptional, and the other local produce notably the meat is all top quality. Refill station is a nice touch, a very good store but it isn't cheap, I have thought I had been overcharged a couple of times but after paying I've returned to the shelf to find it really is that expensive (eg >50p per tomato!).

It's a Budgens top shop in any town, village or city. This one is particularly special to me as it's a beacon of refreshment and nourishment out in the wilds of the southern countryside

The food is good enough to be enjoyable but it's nothing particularly good. Prices are on the pricer side but cheaper than the sainsbury down the road, although the food is isn't as good.

It was your usual super market but parking was funny as you had to have a disc to park but there was no where to park to get disc from news agent

Decent supermarket selling a good amount of local produce from nearby villages which is a refreshing change to some of the bigger chains.Good selection of quality products available albeit not the cheapest place to shop. Staff are very polite and helpful in my experience.

I have used Budgens in Hassocks recently because I discovered that they sell a number of locally made products along with a massive range of other goods. It is a breath of fresh air compared to the huge sterile supermarket chains.I have recently become disabled and have to use a stick, there is a suitable parking space right outside the entrance, brilliant! However, this evening when I arrived at the store , I was made to feel very unwelcome. I did not have a £1 coin to be able to use a trolley. I did have a £2 coin and asked one of the male members of staff if he could change it for me into 2 x £1 coins.I was then taken aback! He very reluctantly took my £2 coin , gave me the 2 x £1 coins & very aggressively told me that he wanted to warn me that he wouldn?t normally do this! . His remarks were so unexpected that I was speechless! How could I shop without a trolley? I apologise for not having a £1 coin! I nevertheless did my shop, spending £91. The checkout Lady, Wendy, was extremely helpful, she packed my bags with great care, Thank you !I don?t understand why the policy is not to give change for the use of a trolley which encourages shopping.I don?t have to use a coin for a trolley at Tesco. If I realise that I do not have a suitable coin in the future I will use them.Shame about the attitude of your Staff member.
