28th March 2024"Lunch being a total disaster"Firstly this is an old pub with NO HEATING..... undoubtedly to save money!! The waitress delivered a small heater and apologised as the boiler wasn't consistent and having issues.....what a load of BOXXOXXX!A group of 4 left our small dining room....the gents toilet was warmer! Now to the 'main event'A fish pie advertised as white fish....served in a white sauce, topped with mash potato and a cheddar cheese crust. Accompanied with broccoli and greens. What we received was a total mess and a disgrace for £17.00 plus. What we received was a miniscule amount of fish in NO sauce topped with cold mash potato with NO cheddar cheese. Cold greens and NO broccoli.A total and absolute disaster....we didn't pay for the fish pies and didn't have any lunch.Reading the marketing blurb, this hotel/restaurant caters for weddings......well what can one say, more lOh! nearly forgot....the sign post giving direction took us in a totally different direction.......they can't even get the signpost right!!A DISASTERit would have been better visiting the McDonalds at the top of the road on the A24.

Nice pub with two log burners both not alight an outside temperature of 9 degrees felt like about 5 degrees inside when your just sitting there, and no other heating onWe had one drink and escaped to the car heater for reliefI just don't know how other people enjoyed their lunch wearing their overcoatsIt could have been such a pleasant experience like other country pubs with a friendly fire burning

Called in without booking, soon shown to a table. Prompt service, but could of been a little hotter.

Looked at alot reviews before visiting and thought stop off for a lovely Sunday lunch whilst generally OK and not dreadful either.2 of us one had the chicken, was cooked OK but not much taste.I had the pork was cooked but again wasn't much flavour too.Nor found to be much veg.Was kale which was nice, other than roast potatoes not other warm cooked veg on plate. Was looking forward to carrots, maybe parsnips or Brockley.Love pub and interior, just think little extra with the meal, and would of given 5 stars.Maybe as a thought cooked chicken with rosemary to give some flavour, and Pork cooked a little longer so makes skin on top crispy. Will give another try later on when in area again.

Just had Sunday roast there and it was extremely disappointing. The beef was so fatty and most of it inedible, the chicken tough and the pork crackling was flavourless. We mentioned this to the waitress and no offer of discount given which is a shame as we couldn't eat half of our food. The staff were really lovely and friendly, they are just let down by the standard of food. A very expensive and disappointing meal out, would not recommend.

We had a lovely time at this pub. We spontaneously decided to go and have lunch with the family with the two dogs.I love that it was dog friendly and there were great veggie options too! My family loved their steak burgers. The sides were lovely too.I would also love to shout out Sarah who was a star - She was so helpful, hard working and a lovely person to chat to.

We visited The George & Dragon while we stayed in an Airbnb in Horsham at Brooks Green. A stone throw away to one of the local pubs. We were so well looked after only popping in for a drink initially by Stacey that we booked in for an evening meal for the next day. Stacey and Madi were so accommodating with regards to our dogs, seating and attention to detail with all aspects of going over and above expectations. Our dogs had Lois Lane and Lana Lang had sausages cooked by the chef. Food, service, and drinks were great. I would recommend anyone to visit and enjoy this great pub. Many thanks Keke, Karen, Lois, Lana, Chris and Amanda from Wilmington, Kent.

we've recently found the George and Dragon and have fallen in love with it, a really friendly and welcoming pub, great for kids (the staff are fantastic with children, and there are a selection of games to keep them occupied and a good children's menu). the food has also been great, not your traditional heavy, bland pub grub, the roasts are fantastic and their chicken schwarma is yum! the only thing that wasn't brilliant was the apple and blackberry crumble, the apple and blackberry was more like jam, it didn't seem freshly homemade. but this is a small point, we're definitely going back ( a lot)

Went there for lunch today and the young lady Mo who looked after us was perfectly attentive , friendly and professional. The Steak and Stilton pie was delicious.

great location, lovely staff, terrible food. For a pub that was so well known for its greatmenus and quality of local food, it has truly missed an opportunity.Food & drinks: good is not great, no passion in the kitchen
