I didn't stay at the hotel. I visited the restaurant for Sunday lunch today, without having a table reserved. The staff were fantastic - helpful, friendly & efficient. I had roast lamb with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, greens & red cabbage. It arrived shortly after I had ordered & was very tasty. I followed that with dessert & coffee. It was difficult to decide which dessert to order; there were some tempting choices, like strawberries & cream mille feuille & chocolate & hazelnut cheesecake, but I settled for orange posset with shortbread biscuits. A great choice! The homemade biscuits melted in my mouth & the posset was delicious. I chose it because it was unusual. I had visited the village of Bramber because it's very pretty & there were a couple of gardens with quirky & unusual displays, so my lunch stop was a spur of the moment decision which turned out to be a good one.

The Castle Inn Hotel is situated in the picturesque village of Bramber.I dropped in the pub for a spot of lunch and a pint. Friendly staff served me from a well stocked bar. I went for a pint of Harvey's Sussex - clear and hoppy just as it should be.I didn't want a full blown meal just a snack. I speak from experience when I say the food here is very good and nicely presented but best of all delicious.Free public car park is directly opposite and has always had parking spaces available when I've visited.Recommended.Food & drinks: The chef here is excellent - I've never had a bad meal.

I stayed here for a night last night and it's great! Perfect location in a beautiful village, comfy, clean rooms and a absolutely mega breakfast (and for a price that VERY reasonable!)The staff were so welcoming and friendly. I'll definitely be booking again when I'm next down here.

Fair priced Inn/rooms with good food and service. Parking small.Health & Safety obviously not good here. Whole lavatory not fixed to the wall or floor and fell sideways completely with me on it. Duty manager not really bothered took virtually no notice of me when I said about it. Not going back, which is a shame.

Large bedroom with a comfortable bed and a decent shower. Young staff who are cheerful courteous and very customer centred. I had a beef ragou pie which was very good, (very large as well!) and had well cooked fresh veg. £57 for the night was extremely good value and included an unlimited choice of breakfast- I had a couple of very good quality sausages with mine. Very easy check in and check out and there?s a good size car park.

Popped in for a quiet evening with a friend. The lounge area was cosy and quiet. The Old Ale was spot on.

Only came for a couple of pints. This may skew my opinion as I have heard the rooms and food are lovely. The exterior is beautiful and it is at an excellent location. The inside feels a lot like a restaurant as opposed to a pub/bar. Little bit soulless but clean and tidy. The beer selection is ok.They have the normal range of larger and cider with some good local ales (Harvey's best and Harvey's forward choice). They also serve Guinness and a wheat beer (blue moon). Coffee is served too.The two pints I had seemed well kept.Expensive (upwards of 6 quid for both pints). The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were also lovely.Would not be first choice for a couple of pints but will come back for food.Pub number 2.
