This old tinfoil hat man's been going there the 40 +years and over the last 20 years it's lost a lot of tru spirit wen old and young mixed. I probably haven't meany more years but this last few have become my youngest son loves time with is father and I tell him old story's and about my fiends. It's going down in my books. God's children matter and the management of this isn't helping it's future. Regards my friend ???

Landlord and staff excellent. Locals all friendly. Decent pint. Shame it's owned by an eccentric maniac that doesn't practice elsewhere what he preaches in his own pubs!!

Employees are fabulous. The only problems are the rules and regulations set by Sam Smith's brewery, i.e. no phones, no music, no fun really ?. It's a good job the people make up for it.

Great little pub. Easily overlooked. But worth a visit. Great selection of proper traditional beers.

This used to be a wonderful pub indeed. However Sam Smith?s has definitely made it not the most attractive place to go at all. This is so sad because the landlord and the people that go there are very friendly indeed. For a standard real ale it is extremely expensive at just over £3 a pint. Also there is far too many restrictions within this pub courtesy of Sam Smith the Brewery owner. He has stopped people using there mobile phones within the pub, however I am not sure how he gets away with this because legally he can?t stop you due to it being a public house not a private house. As I said earlier the landlord is still very friendly and helpful and this is a shame because he definitely doesn?t deserve to be working in this kind of establishment where he is undervalued by the company. Also I would say it is not very accessible for anybody in a wheelchair as it is a very small pub and there is a step as you go into the pub. If you want to give this pub a try I wouldn?t say don?t do it, but be prepared for an expensive drink in a very quiet pub.

Dirty, no atmosphere, to expensive, no branded beers lagers etc. Can't use a mobile phone in pub. Won't be going in again

Sam Smith's beer as good as usual but consider new price of £3/pint a rip-off
