Do they not realise that other people work too and can not make these opening times.... And CLOSED on a Saturday. This would be the only day the majority of people would be able to call in.

My 15 year old son wanted to open a savings account to run alongside his Halifax current account. He?d tried to open one online but it advised that we needed to pop into our local branch with ID. No probs- we went along to Halifax keighley. However after queuing for a while, a lady took us off to the customer service desk. Here she advised that it wouldn?t be possible to open the account because we would need to book an appointment to do it. I said ?why can?t you just do it now?? and she replied ?because you have to be credited?. I had no idea what this meant, but it turned out after some discussion that she meant ?accredited? in that she couldn?t do it because she hadn?t passed the required test. Bearing in mind that I had been able to open a savings account online for my 11 year old the day before in less than 5 minutes, I wondered what kind of test could possibly be needed for this seemingly basic task ?. She then proceeded to offer us the first appointment available at 9pm in one months time, after my son had returned to school (he needed to be present though?). I asked about skipton, but they were booking 6 weeks I?m advance. The ridiculousness didn?t end here though! The lady advised that the only savings accounts offered by Halifax were for ages 11-15 and 16+, and that at 15 my son was in some kind of nonsensical ?no man?s land?. Unfortunately he wouldn?t be able to open a savings account until he was 16 ?. This made absolutely no sense to me- surely he could open the 11-15?s account? She went away to check this and came back 15 mins later to say she wasn?t sure, but was permitted to book us an appointment to check things out. As this point we left the bank and I put a formal complaint in online. Obviously 6 weeks on they are ?still looking into it??Clearly Halifax keighley need to get themselves together, and fast, before they have no customers left ??

Terrible service opening hours are ridiculous

Service poor slow often paying in machine not working and long queues. Staff mixed some helpful some not. I wouldn't advise any LGBTQ+ person to use as some staff members have issues if you are out and proud. Don't try to telephone no one answers

Needed to close an account with a zero balance. No one manning reception so queued at counter for 5 minutes to be told had to go to reception to close account as it would take 20 minutes ! Went to reception which was now manned. Queued again and closed the account in about 2 minutes which included time to replenish the printer with paper.Sad experience interacting with weary looking staff.

I know we are in the middle of a crisis but I have tried 3 times to deposit money and there are always long queues. Why is there reduced opening times? If it safe to operate it should be open as normal and cleaning can be done when closed. Lloyds Banking Group made about £600m last year they can afford some increased costs to give good service to their financially depressed customers

The single star does not reflect my repeated experience of using this branch. It should be no stars. Zero. Every single time.
