Very long wait, staff chatting too long to customers when there's a long queue. When counting out money for customers could be done quietly and not let all in queue know.

I have had an account with Leeds building society for many many years. I would have given them 5 Stars until they close to the Chapel Allerton branch in Leeds and transferred my business and personal accounts with them to Moortown. Since then I have had to put up with a tiny little branch, long queues, the disruption of a move to a larger and more suitable building, phenomenally high turnover in counter staff, and an overall reduction in services. Then they froze our business account in the middle of a pandemic having asked us to produce documents within 4 weeks as part of their nation wide review of such accounts, and well within the 4 weeks they gave us to action this. We have been a small not-for-profit community based business for over 30 years and do not appreciate having our money frozen, our payments stopped putting us in bad light with creditors, and generally being treated like criminals. When we complained we were told there was nobody available at head office to reverse this and that the branch were powerless to overturn this clearly erroneous decision. We then heard nothing about our complaint. Leeds Building Society used to be a trustworthy organisation but I have no faith in them anymore and we will be removing our substantial assets from their care as soon as our account is unfrozen.

Recently changed to them, been helpful so far. Hopefully they arent going the way of my old bank and wont close my branch!
