Even though I've known about Swarthmore Education Centre for a long time, this was a first-time visit, to have a go at printing in this drop-in session, printing your own festive/winter greetings card or wrapping paper, using pre-cut lino designs, or create your own design using safeprint tiles. It was held in Swarthmore's café, located on the ground floor. In celebration of the International Day of Disabled People, and with kind support from Forum Centre. The staff were welcoming and helpful. It was a very enjoyable experience.Swarthmore Centre offers a good selection of workshops and courses covering a wide range of crafts and skills, including printing, stained glass, jewellery, pottery, painting and embroidery.

Digital Painting ? Beginners L550a was a real joy. The tutor was professional, kind, patient but above all knowledgeable and guided the group to achieve some amazing results in the very first class. Some challenges working with digital software and google classroom at the same time - but we soon got used to it. Great to have fellow students from Leeds but also further afield too. Joining process was straightforward and excellent value for money as well.

Communication with staff and students has not been a strong point, but I have really enjoyed the Spanish classes I have been doing at Swarthmore for the last 5 years. The teacher is excellent, and the facilities good.

I was progressing through mymaths course and I got the answer wrong and a teacher called Andy had made a comment and said that I should know and I felt under so much pressure and reluctant to come back and I felt reluctant to say anything back because I got so angry and I complained to the project manager but I havent heard anything back i felt ripped off I wouldnt recommend this college to anyone there was other comments he made to me on the course as well by this tutor I eventually left and didn't come back I just felt victimised he may of being try to help but I didn't feel it was helpful I think is an issue with how the staff treat the students and I arrived late on the course abd wasnt given an explanation about why I wasn't informed sooner about the course start date when I giomg through the process of enrolling onto the maths course.

I joined this college to do level 2 English lesson, literally, u learned nothing with English instead politics and racism. And finally, they are telling me I can't do my exam because the government didn't pay for my exam. Why now they telling me this and why I can't pay myself for my exam?. I literally suggest not a good college for foreign students.

Had similar issues to Jay with the unprofessional staff. I was too unwell to attend because of my disability and also had other issues with comments made towards me in the class. I received a rude phone-call and blunt letter which was aggressive and unhelpful. No refund and definitely not friendly.

Fabulous college, staff outstanding and really care about their students. My daughter has gone from strength to strength here and so glad we found it.

Sadly I was thrown of the counselling diploma course four weeks before the end of successfully completing my diploma. I look after my sick mother and was instructed to leave until my mother had died. My mother is thankfully still alive, but having experienced Swarthmore's internal complaints procedure first hand, I would advice anyone thinking of embarking on the diploma to seriously consider how this course is run and managed. There were no systems in place to deal with a breakdown in relations between the course tutor and students and many of the students on my course had to leave unexpectedly before the exams. This is obviously my own personal experience and the education centre itself does good work for the community, but in terms of offering an academic and professional diploma course, the only one it does offer, my experience was highly stressful and the experience I received has felt inhumane and very distressing.I chose this college because of its 'friendly learning ethos', but I have been offered no compassion or understanding, simply thrown off a course with my refund and no qualification.
