In great location, staff excellent, however lift not working and we stayed 2 nights. Hardly slept road works outside which we were not advised, then the empty bottles being put in the bin from the bar, lorries doing early deliveries triple glazed windows definitely needed. Its a shame as lovely building and ideal for the airport

On arrival no car park available even after ringing the day before to ask about it ! 10 min walk from nearest one ! It?s now 140 am and there is no sleep to be had Leeds council are doing resurfacing outside hotel - now I understand has to be done at some point however the noise is horrendous nobody can sleep through it - again I called the hotel yesterday and no mention of this - customer service is surly - this is happening do you still want to stay - adults make informed choices - feel there was not an opportunity to make this ! Atrocious customer service !

The staff were lovely, particularly Agneska on the front desk, who was extremely professional yet friendly and gracious in how she dealt with guests. The room, which cost £163 per night, was apparently refurbished very recently. The lift hasn't been and was out of order, which isn't great for a room on the fifth floor. The service lift was an experience, but we ended up having to climb the stairs rather than ask to be accompanied each time we needed to get to our room. The room wasn't great, to be fair. Considering that this was the best room that a long established four star hotel had to offer, we were quite disappointed. The housekeeping was average. The floor didn't appear to have been hoovered properly as I dropped something on the floor and picked it up to find it covered in a previous guests hair. The headboard had dust on top of it, the waste bin was dented, and the desk lamp shade was clearly skewed and loosely attached. The bed was average. There was about an inch gap under the toom door, which was disconcerting, and the view through the dirty windows was less than inspirational. The outer window sills were crumbling. The facilities were okay with everything you'd need, but weren't four stars by any stretch of the imagination. Breakfast would have been an additional £13 each. At £163 for one night, this seems a bit sharp. We didn't book breakfast. If the rest of the stay had been as good as Agneska's exceptional service, this hotel would be a fair proposition. Sadly, as it is, we feel very much overcharged and underwhelmed.

Good location, helpful staff. Lift not working so getting to 5th floor was a challenge- ended up using the tiny service lift, not ideal. Room decor tired, peeling wallpaper, shower didn?t work. Comfy beds - odd that I?d booked and paid for two twins superior rooms and one was spacious with two double beds and one less spacious with two singles ? Not sure that if stay again unless working lift and some investment in general decor ,

Stayed in single room. Wasn?t clean finger prints on mirrors, thick dust on skirting board dirty walls. Very dated decor. Lift was broken which can?t be helped. Hotel reception gives a decent impression but the rooms don?t. Didn?t fancy trying the breakfast given the room and checked out after one night as didn?t sleep due to noise outside. View from room was brick wall

Stayed for one night. My husband and I were celebrating an anniversary by visiting our old student haunts (we met at Leeds Uni in the late ?80s). The hotel sweetly left an anniversary slice of cake in our room. David on reception was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is bang in the middle of Leeds, so very convenient for everything, and has an interesting history - including many fine architectural features (beautiful main staircase, stunning window overlooking the reception desk). However? the interior decor is otherwise death by beige!! Investment must be made regarding lighting and a splash of colour here and there! A little love needs to be spread; some touches of luxury. Two little pots of orchids on the reception desk are so insignificant they might as well not be there. This Victorian, high-ceilinged spacious building can easily take some flamboyance!! Our bedroom was lovely and big too - but beige and brown? Bathtub had evidence of stains that had literally been painted over. Staff were very sparse at breakfast. But we slept well.

The bed was very cosy room was average. THE BEST BREAKFAST IVE EVER HAD. It was so grand and every time you went downstairs you felt like a Princess on the staircase. Honestly it was beautiful. Older window so there was a slight draft to be conscious of in colder months. Central location lots of food options and transport outside.

Having stopped at many hotels in Leeds my wife and I decided to give the Met a try, and we were not disappointed. To start yes the hotel is a little dated but that?s to be expected with a hotel of this age. The hotel is spotless from the moment you enter the hotel to arriving at the very clean and spacious rooms. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel bar area is a nice place to relax and spend a little quiet time. Also the hotel is in a great location, only minutes away from the train station, town?s centre and night life. And all at a very reasonable price compared to some of the other hotels in the area. Looking forward to stopping at the Met again very soon.

The room I was shoeholed into was the tiniest porkiest room that I have ever had the misfortune to pay over the odd for. Almost £300 for 2 nights, no breakfast. No room to swing a car. Bathroom was fitted in the size of a bedroom so room reflected more an Easyhotel room than a 4 star hotel charging over the odds. Room in poor stateof repair. Downstairs at ground level all beautiful but sadly lacking in atmosphere. This vacuum was also aided by the ineffectual nonchalant staff. I have to wait five minutes for checkin while two receptionists checked in the same couple?.go figure. post visit checked website and at no point is the tiny room I was put in shown on their website. Then realised they put me in there as I was a solo female traveller. So?.don?t recommend. Don?t stay there. There are so many better options around. Graduation ceremony great onlyspoiled by Met Hotel rip-off. Manager wrote and asked what they could do better?.suggested if pricing was fairer for rooms provided people would consider using their bar and restaurant and pay for breakfast, but hen you pay over the odds why would you give more money to a facility that blatantly disrespects you. Also no mention of severe roadworks all around the hotel and noise, but easier for receptionists to ignoreit than actual have a decent discussion with guests.

Booked last minute to attend a graduation after deciding to stay over. Reception staff lovely and helpful allowed us to park and leave bags securely till check in was available at 3pm. Room was okay, a little dated but clean and tidy. Hotel again seemed a little dated but clean in areas we seen. Bed was comfy and tea coffee facilities in room was nice. Shower was fine and complimentary smellies was great as we forgot ours. Didnt eat at hotel so cant comment on that but room service prices seemed quite good on menu. Very central for bars restaurants and shops and 10 to 15min walk from universities. Downside noisy hotel on a morning, fire alarm tests at 10.30am went off 4 times and then hoovering in upstairs room sounded so loud. Room also not the biggest but fine for a night. Other than that no complaints.

We stayed here for one night to see a band in the square, the location was perfect and the room was very clean and had a very comfortable bed too. Staff was nice and helpful. Would stay again if went to Leeds, slight expensive at £150 per night but it is a big city

Terrible service in the restaurant for evening meal. Booked for dinner, bed and breakfast but restaurant couldn't find our details so it took ages to actually order anything. Struggled to get out of the hotel the next morning, had to struggle to get out of the car park door with my hands full, despite there being staff nearby who could have helped. Room was basic, but fine for the price. Would not stay here again though, it was just one drama after another.

I didn't stay in the Met Hotel, but we did use it for a work conference that lasted 5 hours. Can I say the conference hall is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture that has been lovingly maintained with columns, ceiling decorations and large mirrors and the whole building has a sort of grandeur you'd find in a hotel in a place like Vienna. Also the staff were friendly and helpful, the buffet and cakes we had were of a good standard, and the conference hall had been well prepared. If I was staying in Leeds, I would recommend the Met Hotel as it's five minutes walk from the railway station and is near the shops and cultural attractions. One slight downside, the bar service could be better as I had to wait ten minutes while someone could be found to work the bar and several people were waiting.

I ordered room service after a long hard days working, they 'forgot'... twice... going to bed hungry isnt fun. The receptionist was a total idiot too. DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Its not hard to get an order, let alone twice

Had a great 2 night stay. Those looking for an ultra modern hotel may look for fault but they would be missing the point. This is a grand hotel of its time which has been modernised sensibility and has all you really need without losing its character. The staff are so helpful and the rooms -and beds - are very comfortable. The breakfast is excellent. It isn?t flash. It?s old world charm with what you need done well. And the location is perfect for the city centre and station. I really liked it.
