Spent a night here in October 2018. Of all the places I miss from my British vacation, The Hatchet Inn is definitely it! Lovely hospitality, gear dinners and full breakfasts, charming location, and lots of fun. We closed the place down, and then the owners, their friends, and I stayed up till the wee hours telling stories, drinking, and singing songs. Can't wait to visit the British Isle again just for this stop.Food & drinks: The dinner and drinks were wonderful. The breakfast, my first full breakfast, was absolutely amazing!

Lovely characterful country pub. Have eaten there a few times and the food has always been good. The staff are helpful and friendly. Good service. Would recommend.Have stayed here once a few years back. The room was basic but fine. It's an old building so need to expect uneven floors etc.

Great selections for Sunday lunch (the trout with potatoes for me; butterfly prawns for wife; and lamb/beef roasts for our sons). We booked ahead and even so were informed it would be a little while for food to come out - very good to be let known so we didn't rush our incredible, "grandmother's secret recipe" Hatchet ale (highly recommended). The pub atmosphere was superb - warming wood fire, historic paraphernalia decorations, a funky 2-in-1 picture, ...There is a spacious area outside with pic-nik tables for warmer/dryer days. The very busy staff were forever friendly and welcoming even with the full house. Recommended.Food & drinks: The pub's very own Hatchet Ale: Highly Recommended!

Stayed here last night.A very Beautiful area and the young lady who looked after was great but I would never recommend you stay here. The beds were springy and broken, some how gaps in the mattress. We had to sleep on the quilt to help with the mattress. The carpet was really dirty and the room smelt of dog.

The pub is beautiful, food is ok and they serve a decent pint .the young girl that dealt with us was very professional.....can't fault it tbh ..But ....The room we stayed at was dreadful , very damp, dead bird on the stairs, skirting boards with mold on them...paint peeling of the wall, really disappointing after paying out over £100 for a night... honestly the pub is fantastic but the rooms need a serious re vamp and decent heating ...we were planning on staying for a few days but sadly left the following morning.

We met friends half way to celebrate our wedding anniversaries. We have visited before. It is a pretty pub in a lovely location.I was so pleased to see trout on the menu - having not seen it anywhere for years. My friend and I enjoyed it and the men loved their pies. The staff are friendly. Good menu.

This is a beautiful pub, with rooms that are hotel standard, and the bed we slept in was enormous, and very very comfortable. Rates for B&B are excellent.
