Beautiful place, the oldest tea shop in England. The waitresses are dressed in period clothing. It is recommended to have tea and one of their wonderful pastries, you can have sandwiches, too. Very friendly staff.

Such an old cafe, you still need to look for a more ancient one in England))) a large selection of tea menu, desserts, sandwiches and other dishes. The atmosphere of ancient Britain. The prices are also appropriate, high. You won't drink tea there every day, but you should visit such a place at least once in your

A quaint oldy-world tea room with staff in custom dress. Reasonable menu available and a comfortable spot to take a break. A bit pricey though.

The worst afternoon tea experience. We organised an afternoon tea for our Aunties 79th birthday. We were a table of 10 which had pre booked for 2pm and pre-ordered our food in advance. We arrived at the tea rooms at 1:54 ready for our booking at 2pm to be told that our table was being used and the people were still eating so we could wait outside in the rain. We waited until 2:02 when other members of the party arrived to be told our table is still not ready and again we could wait outside in the rain or we could wait inside but we would be in the way. We finally were sat at our table at 2:10pm which had not been laid with any cutlery, tea cups or glasses. At 2:45 our tea finally turned up to the table over brewed and disgusting. Our food did not come out until 3:15 which was wrong, dry and some of the cakes were frozen. Some of the party asked for no fish sandwiches so instead they were given grated carrot sandwiches! At 3:20we were told that our table was only till 3:30 but luckily no one had booked after us. We asked for a jug of water three times to come to the table, when it finally came the glasses were dirty. At 3:50 we got the bill which included a £20 service fee and when asking for it to be taking it off the man asked why and rudely said someone else would have to help us pay as we wanted to pay separately and not all together. Absolutely worse experience of an afternoon tea, poor food and despicable service.I would give this a zero star if possible

I went here for afternoon tea and everything was great! The servers were friendly and fast. They were able to make all my sandwiches with chicken. The scones and desserts were great. I would come back here.

The Bridge Tea Rooms is in a very old building, and the staff dress in mop caps and aprons. The decor is both in keeping with the building and very interesting. Food is a little expensive but freshly made and good size portions. The staff are friendly and helpful. The cheesecake is scrumptious.Vegetarian options: There is a reasonable choice of food for vegetariansParking: On Thursdays the market is in the nearest car park, but there are 2 other car parks within walking distance. Prices for parking are reasonable.Kid-friendliness: There isn't a delegated kid area but I found my grandson found the pictures very interesting. It isn't a place to play only to eat or drink

Mind your head leaving. Their doorway is solid concrete and they do nothing to protect customers. Gave myself concussion leaving. You can duck to leave, as it?s clearly low, but there?s no mention that the bit above your head extends further than normal and is solid concrete. The food is nice, but the service is rubbish. No warmth, no friendliness. Very expensive too. £10 for a pot of tea for two. Two sandwiches took half an hour to arrive. £4 for a glass of sparkling water (no bottle).Overrated, wouldn?t return.
