Decent rooms for the rate, although the bath and windows (very hard to open) need refurbishing. At restaurant, starters were better than mains (really bland) and service was a little slow (i.e. waitress was inattentive at times) although there were only three people eating in total. Breakfast was good, salt and pepper saved the scrambled eggs.

First time staying on business, have usually stayed at Alexandria as I travel with my dogs, it can be hard to find truly 'pet friendly' hotels but Chiselden does meet the bill on that note, the dogs were met with a fuss on arrival and permitted to walk the grounds. Lovely modern yet still inkeeping room with shared balcony overlooking the garden. Highly recommend, will be staying again soon.

A beautiful great house in a pretty location. The staff were friendly and it felt that nothing was too much of a trouble.

We went for dinner on Valentines Day and had a delightful experience. The food was amazing with enough variety for all, the staff were pleasant and considerate and the cost was reasonable. All this added together made for a lovely evening. Thank you all

Do NOT eat at the restaurant if you have any dietary requirements/allergies. After confirming they could cater for me before hand and even double checking the morning of the meal that my meal was fully gluten free. The restaurant served me a 'gluten free' burger which contained wheat, barley and oats.Staff serving had no clue about the food they 'just serve what the kitchen give them', had no understanding of how this would affect me as a coeliac. One member of staff asked me if I had 'severe coeliac or not'. No apology either. I dread to think what would happen if someone with severe allergies came to eat here!Very disappointing, not safe for people with dietary requirements, staff are dishonest, uneducated and frankly don't seem to care what affect this can have on customers. Had to take 2days off work due to severe gastric issues.

The hotel is nice old style, big room, not much choice of food, very limited services. The area is very quiet and nothing to see or do.

Needs updating, decor-wise. I could hear the TV and voices from the room next door, and the food and drink were expensive (£35 for paté followed by a turkey Christmas main, and £6 for a beer)

Daughter is getting married so we visited as perpetual venue. The hotel is in lovely well kept grounds had various size rooms so we could have a small medium or large party. The service we had was excellent and we had a cream tea for 7. Cost reasonable no rush and a nice atmosphere.it is certainly on the list for future investigation.Food & drinks: Excellent food so much and was supplied bag to take away what we never ate.

Stayed for one night. A beautiful house and gardens , just a few minutes from the motorway. After a warm welcome we were taken to our room which was spacious , clean , warm and had THE most comfortable bed. We had a late drink and chat with the lovely receptionist before turning in for the night. We chose the continental breakfast which was just right before setting off. For an excellent stay with a warm welcome you will find it hard to beat this. Highly recommended.Rooms: Spacious , warm and with a very comfortable bed.Nearby activities: All Cotswolds attractions.Food & drinks: Plentiful continental breakfast and reasonably priced drinksNoteworthy details: A warm welcome from the staff with excellent service.
