We went for dinner and a drink. Marvellous selection of gin and beer from the local brewery. Food was beautiful. Small portions but beautifully formed. Next time will order starters too.Dog friendly. Nice decor. Car park was full so we had to park on the street. 6pm on a rainy Wednesday. Must be rammed on sunny weekends. Will go back

We went here for an mid week meal. Food was excellent. Staff were super friendly. Interior nicely done but with traditional features. What a gem of a place. Definitely be back.

We visited on Christmas Eve. Pub was busy, lively and we were warmly welcomed.Pros: The food was delicious. The wine choices were good and varied. The beer was also very drinkable (some a little too drinkable).Cons: Service was disjointed. One server was very good and extremely professional but that barely made up for our main server who could not have given off more 'I don't want to be here' vibes if she had screamed it. Wrong menus, wrong orders, messed up a Vegan order several times and took zero pride in her work. Sacking her would seriously be doing the pub a favour.Really liked the 'Environmental Impact Map' was a nice touch (minus the several spelling mistakes) and was good to learn something about a well established local business.Take the service out and this is a lovely place with 'some' very good staff and good food. We will return and hope that the service issues were a one off.

Superbly cooked food. The Cod Pieces starter was lovely. My main course, Linguine with wild mushrooms, aged Parmesan and Wiltshire truffle, was truly outstanding - absolutely bursting with flavour! My wife had the smoked salmon as a starter and cod mourney as her main course. She found it to be as enjoyable as my meal. The Chef is to be congratulated on cooking skills. The servers were efficient and friendly. A most enjoyable experience.

Went to The Bell for an off the cuff meal. We entered the building via the patio door and could instantly smell the lovely aroma from the kitchen, I couldn't wait to start. We were a little early so went to the bar first. It was a little busy and a bar tender (called Craig) was running around serving everyone at speed, but with a smile on his face whilst chatting to what I assumed were locals which was great to see. We waited a while to be served, but the whole time we waited, another man (assumed to be the manager? Tall man) was stood at the end of the bar on a computer, chewing a pen!! He looked up, saw us, put his pen down, slowly walked to us and simply said "Yes" we ordered our drinks and he made them, the next and only words to come out of his mouth was "£12.40". He took our payment and said nothing else. We went over to the restaurant and were greeted by a very friendly tall girl (Black hair) who was clearly very busy, but took the time to greet us with a smile and showed us to our seats. We didn't have to wait long and our order was taken by the same lady, again with a smile. But at the same time she was rushing around other tables seeing to them. Maybe they were short staffed this evening? After a wonderful meal of Steak Frites and Fish and Chips with desserts, the restaurant was now a lot quieter. We settled our bill and headed to the car park, but I felt like I had a moment of deja vu, the barman was working away and the manager was still in the same position. If this man is the manager of The Bell, then he needs to realise when his staff need help or a little assistance will go a long way Overall, great food, great service, we will be back for sure.

Stopped in The Bell for an after mountain bike event, in aid of the Royal British Legion poppy appeal. And it was excellent, great beer, great service and an open fire. The Ramsbury Raspberry & honey gin & craft lager that tastes like an ale were wonderful. The service too was great ?
