Always liked this shop even though service has always been quite hit and miss (getting overcharged , very long waits etc)Recently we had quite a bit of stuff to donate and was surprised at the officious behaviour of the staff member. She said she wouldn't accept the furniture because it 'looked broken ', it was not broken at all, it is a solid oak bookcase, it could probably do with re-varnishing but that is not 'broken'. Also took a children's bed and was told they don't accept any children items due to health and safety. I'm sure I've seen similar in the shop. They accepted a heater which in my opinion is much more a health and safety risk. Bizarre. It felt like the staff member just didn't like the look of us and decided to find fault with everything. I've always enjoyed shopping here but this has certainly put me off returning and I will never ever attempt to donate something here again!

Also emailed to Head Office:I would like to notify someone of bullying I witnessed in one of your stores yesterday. This is relating to your store in Old Town, Swindon. There was a lady behind the till, she clearly had some degree of learning difficulty and she was being very friendly, chatting with the customers when they were making their purchases. At the other end of the store, near rhe window, there were two ladies, an Indian lady (I think the manager) and another young lady, quite short with brown hair who were dressing the window. The Indian lady was mimicking pretty much everything the young woman behind the till had to say. She was visibly distressed by this but was trying to be brave and continue to do her job (which is probably voluntary). The short woman with brown hair was laughing at the Indian lady's jokes and they were both involving customers, some of whom just left the shop, others started to make fun of the poor girl too. I am incredibly shocked by this and I suggest that someone gives this store a complete shake down. This is discrimination on the grounds of her disability by a senior member of staff and I witnessed it after only ever having set foot in the store once in my entire life. Please do something about this situation. From a concerned member of the public.

It was the second time this week and a few other than the fact that the only way to go about their own 9 years ago was by the end of the year and a half ago and have been for years to come, crafted by hand in the first place in a way that is the only way I can get it to be a good idea ? the most important part of 3rd, and I think it is the worst cartoon character of a few of my favorite ? and the rest of the world and I think it was a very good ? to a new study ? the most important part of the reason why the same thing as a result of this year, the first thing that comes to mind when I got home

I just visited this shop with my little boy asleep in his buggy. I regularly support all of the charity shops in Old Town and will continue to do so.
Sadly, today, the woman who was behind the till was, I feel, incredibly rude.
There was a lady buying something at the till and I needed to get round behind her, but couldnâ??t fit the buggy in behind. I said, â??Excuse me, please. Can I be a pain and just...â? and the woman behind the till put her hand up palm towards me to stop me talking. I said, â??Please...â? and she just shook her head again.
I struggled to twist my buggy around and walked back the way I came having to touch things by the side. I said, â??I just wanted to get by and you just put your hand up at me! I will just leave this way then.â? She shouted down the shop at me that she was sorry and didnâ??t know etc. but she hadnâ??t even given me a chance.
Iâ??ve got home and I feel really quite upset. I wouldnâ??t ever think about being so rude as to put up my hand to a customer and I am considering making a complaint to the charity. I might seem melodramatic, but I donâ??t think itâ??s acceptable, particularly for a charity shop worker, to behave like this.
