After 32 years I have finally had enough with Barclays, their branch closures and poor personal service and so have opened up my new business account with Metro. The Merry Hill Metro branch is open till 5pm Mon to Fri and they actually have several cashier's available. It is also possible to telephone the Metro branch and speak to real people.We are going to see how it goes with Metro for a few months and then move all our accounts from Barclays to Metro- and we have a considerable amount of money in our Barclays accounts.Our nearest Barclays is now 15 miles away in Kidderminster. One of the staff there told me a few weeks ago that she feared that this branch would also close and was worried about her job. Is this how to run a bank?I wanted to open a new business account for my latest business and so travelled to Barclays Kidderminster to do so.'You need to do it online', I was told rather bluntly. I left the branch frustrated, annoyed and disappointed.I am good in business but not so too good on the internet like many people my age.I tried to open a new account online but struggled. I then telephoned the Barclays business app helpline number and after waiting 45 minutes managed to speak to a real person, albeit on the other side of the World. This is what I had hoped would have happened when I visited the Kidderminster branch. The polite man several thousand miles away said he would arrange a call back from a member of the Barclays business team to assist me on the phone and open up the new account.Great!When would it be?The earliest date was...NEARLY TWO MONTHS AWAY!!!Enough is enough. I telephoned Metro Bank straight away and booked an appointment at their Merry Hill branch. Within a week my new business account was open. The cheque book and paying in book arrived by post a day later and my business banking/ debit card was ready to collect from the branch.Metro Bank may have had issues last year but in my opinion they are the future of banking in the UK. They are taking us back to reality.Not everyone is Internet obsessed and many people especially older folks want personal service with a human being involved when banking.At the moment I cannot recommend Metro Bank enough and my advice to all those like myself who have been dissatisfied with Barclays for far too long is to vote with your account closure and move your valuable money to another bank which treats it's customers with respect ?

After reading all the bad reviews about the Kidderminster branch of Barclays I was not looking forward to visiting the branch on Saturday but had no option because of the closure of my local bank.I must say I was welcomed in, and the help I received was second to none! The young man who was sitting at his desk to the left of the entrance got up immediately, was polite, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I wish I had taken his name to provide him with the accolade he deserves.I will happily return to Kidderminster Barclays. Thank you for your assistance and patience.

Have been a Barclays customer for nearly 50 years ......1st visit today - total shambles.2nd visit (2 hours later) - better customer service, but could not do all transactions.Bring back Barclays in Ludlow !!!

Dropped in to make a transfer, but it was above the limit available via ATMs, so had to wait for member of staff. Details taken and asked to wait for a member of staff to be free, but 25 minutes later still nobody had appeared. Finally the one visible staff member finished with her customer then picked the nearest person to deal with next even though they'd just walked through the door. Even when the six people editing in the queue complained, she just wandered off the back room instead. One young girl triaging the people coming in, but she kept apologising as she had not long started and couldn't help, but was left pretty much on her own. Utter shambles

Nothing but issues with this bank over the last 6 months then this morning ended it for me. I was in discussing a payment I had been given for my deceased mother, it wasn?t in my name. Rather than trying to explain things in a compassionate manner, I was told that because this person wasn?t in ?existence? anymore? at this point I left the branch in tears. My husband had to go back into the bank for me, where he spoke with the manager, she explained to him in a kinder manner what the issue was which we could understand, however my husband has now made a complaint to Barclays. I will be changing my bank, I do not trust this branch!

Barclays have lost the plot!!!!! The Staff In Kidderminster branch are lovely but the service offered is awful. Monday morning I go to branch to get change for my business only to be told we don't have any and wont have any until Thursday!!!! Its definitely time to move banks as Barclays obviously don't want any customers after all they are closing most of there branches.......

We had a problem making a payment and although the gentleman we were talking to was helpful we were shut in a room and left while he felt with other people and then sat and picked a scab of his arm yuk made me feel really queasy wasn't very professional

Barclays are one of the largest European Fossil Fuel exploration financiers! I would like Barclays to stop financing the destruction of our planet and to stop lending money to oil companies because the burning of fossil fuels is a major contributor to Global Warming!
