Have always been happy with the bank in the last 6 years.Realising however that the service is quite dependent on the staff on duty.4 staff members in the bank on a weekend - 2 customers being served - 30 minute wait for the third!! While it was communicated that there is a wait , there was no apparent reason for it. On asking if there was a chance to expedite with the 2 staff members on the counters , not handling any customers for over 15 minutes, we were told quite curtly by the lady in charge that ? we don?t need to explain our job to you!?Not great service and definitely not customer friendly attitude!

Even though their staff turnover seems a little high, the service is always excellent and they've always fixed whatever problem we've gone in with. I also love that they love dogs, have a customer toilet and actually seem to reae t their customer base. I know Metro bank has had its problems but they are a breath of fresh air in retail banking.

I moved to Metro Bank about 2 years ago because I liked the increased opening hours. Local staff are friendly and helpful but the Bank is slow to react and their size and inexperience shows, for example; very slow to join the CBILS loans scheme, their bank feeds into accounting software is intermittent and on more than one occasion I have had customers tell me that their banks to not recognize my account details and so they have had to send me cheques. My cards regularly don't work and have to be replaced. Not a good choice for a business account.

Very friendly bank and always greeted with a friendly smile! Was able to print debit card and supply pin number at time of opening my son's account which was very helpful.

Poor service so far. I called to book an appointment to open a community account and was told they don't make appointments. When I went in, the first thing I was asked was if I had made an appointment otherwise it would be a 90 min wait. Long process to open account. When I went back in two weeks later to add someone to the account I was told it hadn't been opened yet and paperwork was missing. Staff don't seem to know what they are doing - referring to their notes regularly!

Excellent service and dog friendly. A better experience for a bank although service at the counter can be a bit slow. Useful safe deposit facilities available. Decent interest rates for savers. Metro call their branches 'stores' which is a little odd to English customers. Nevertheless highly recommended.

I switched to metro bank nearly a year ago. Had nothing but great service from them in that whole year. Staff are friendly, efficient. great opening hours. If you want a bank that's got that personal touch rather than cost cutting and getting rid of staff in favour of atms switch

So it only took six months to go down the pan.
First they failed to take my rent and charged me for not being able to pay it when the money was there (finally refunded me the bank charge even though they said it was canceled) and just now I have found out that instead of changing the date for a standing order as I had requested, they just put in a new date and so my rent was taken off twice and now I have insufficient funds to make a payment for my car finance on Monday. this is aside from the fact they entered my opening branch as Slough (despite it being Newbury) and make this a security question. Terrible bank. Have moved back to HSBC and will be closing this account.
