A big thank you to Melissa at the Stockon branch for helping me to sort my ISAs. All went well. 5* service. In all my dealings with the Stockon branch I have never had a problem.

More bad experiences than good I'm afraid. Waited a week for new debit cards. Had to ring up to find out what was the hold up. Turns out they forget to press the button to action this. After an intermable wait I finally got someone to action them but still no cards . Not great service Virgin Money!

If I could give 0 stars I would, I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone looking to open an account!!! I've never known a more unhelpful bank in all my life, they have no time for their customers, I was passed about for 3 days trying to resolve a situation, I was on the phone on 2 separate occasions for over an hour, then was told to go into branch, who then told me to phone another number!!!! Pass the buck.... As soon as I get the chance to I will be closing my account and moving to another bank. A.S.A.P.

Awful service. I wish I could give 0 stars. Would not recommend. The staff were rude, I was told they were too busy to deal with me, sent away and told to come back 30 minutes later (I had contacted the branch in advance to make sure I could close down the account of a deceased relative). Then they told me they were still too busy to provide a private space to talk. I ended up discussing my business at the reception desk with other people around. At the same time 3 other members of staff were standing around talking.

Outstanding service concerning change of signatory on an account. Well done to the front desk lady, and the outstanding Sam., who made the complicated very simple. All staff friendly and efficient!

I would not recommend Yorkshire Bank and here is why. I talked with Yorkshire Bank online before I went into the branch and they told me "Because you are from overseas, we just need a passport, a residence permit and something with your UK address on it". I asked "So is my HSBC Bank letter acceptable?", they said "Yes it is". So I went into the branch and spoke to the person working at the desk as you walk in.She then informed me "Hmmmm what you have might not be enough, I'll speak with the manager", she then come out and said "Sorry we need something like a utility bill or council tax bill to give you an account". I said "But I spoke with someone, and they said all I needed was a passport, BRP and something with my UK address on it". The woman then said "Well you were speaking to a call center and they don't know what they are on about". I then said "And they said a NI number letter would be sufficient as well", and the woman said "We don't accept that".She then said "We need something on there like a council tax bill, gas bill, we want to know you are paying for stuff and you are not here to launder money etc". After going in there I kind of felt awful and The Yorkshire Bank clearly has poor communication and a lack of consistency. You get one person who works there saying one thing and the person at the branch saying another thing. I believe I had more than enough information to open an account. Oh well I'll just put my money elsewhere.
