I was served promptly. The desk attendant was friendly and very polite - even offered me water because of the weather. She processed my transaction very quickly and I was on my way in no time at all. Nice quiet branch.

Avoid this bank at all costs! So awful I would have given no stars but can only post this by giving one star!
As a potential new Coop customer as I was, you are expected to divulge ALL your personal financial information . this will take 45 minutes. If you decide that giving all this info is too intrusive you can't open an account and/or If you ask to withdraw your answers and not leave them in the bank you can't do that either.
If you pick up the paper they are written on as you believe that this private and confidential information is your property then the manager Jo Menzies, will snatch and tear the paper from your hand refusing to let you destroy it yourself. She will insist it is now bank property. She will tell you it will be shredded but she will not let you witness this.
You will however have wasted an hour of your time and have given your heart a good workout as it will be pounding inside your chest as mine was.
Needless to say I did not open the account. I went to the Yorkshire building society the following day with my £10K and opened an instant access account with the same rate of interest with no fuss, no intrusive questioning and I was treated as a valued customer.
No wonder Coop are going down the pan.

Poor service - 1 cashier at the desk, on the phone for 10min with no other desk open for customer service, go make the phone calls in the back office no? And close the position all together - no wonder the bank is going under, you'll grow a full beard just waiting to see the cashier :(
