A great place to visit. I'm a novice when it comes to bird watching, but managed to see a Bittern and 4 Marsh Harriers passing food mid flight. All the hides are easily accessible even with mobility scooters (which are available to hire at the venue). Great cafe and visitors shop. We'll worth a visit

Lovely welcome by the volunteers. I restricted myself to the closest hides, the Causeway and the Lower hide are a bit of a walk and didn't have much activity on our previous visit. Very quiet morning, nothing special seen, though I was happy spotting a spotted flycatcher. Had a wrap for lunch which was filling and the...

Leighton Moss’ diverse habitats include reeds, woodland and limestone grassland. It also incorporates extensive areas of mudflats, coastal marsh and saltwater lagoons along the shores of nearby Morecambe Bay.
Our reedbed is the largest in northwest England and is home to important breeding birds such as bearded tits, marsh harriers and water rails. Other wildlife includes otters, bitterns and wintering wildfowl.
We have nature trails, visitor center, parking, toilets, parking and RSPB shop.
Trails for dogs are limited.
