Beautiful reserve nestled in a wooded valley. Good trails, roomy hides and plenty to see on the water and off. There is a wide variety of habitat on offer - as well as the main reserve at Leighton Moss the RSPB also has land on a nearby saltmarsh and Warton Crag just up the road. The excellent staff and volunteers are happy to help you get the most from your visit. There's something for people of all ages and abilities here.

We had a great day.A whole new experience wading through , almost knee high , water along every path. Not a great amount of birds but they were up close due to the water levels , with swans and ducks swimming in front of us.We were very lucky at the end of our visit to see the starling termination. The pictures are of the paths we walked along.

Brilliant RSPB reserve. It's a beautiful environment especially in the sunshine, with several hides and a great viewing tower. Really friendly and knowledgeable people. Visitor centre is very nice with a lovely cosy cafe that does breakfast, lunch and cake.Definitely need wellies at the moment - all the paths are underwater!

Super nice place for dog walking and wildlife. The dog trail is good and there is also a no dog zone where the otters are.We went when the weather wasn't great but it didn't hinder our experience at all. We have bought. Seasonal pass and will be back again. The cafe and shop are lovely, great food options especially if you are vegan or gluten free.Very clean toilet facilities too and helpful knowledgeable volunteers x

One of the RSPB's top reserves Leighton Moss is especially fine during the winter. It is pretty large and can be very wet - wellies are advised during periods of extensive rain - and that can be an issue for those with mobility issues. But if you're lucky - and you don't need to be that lucky - then what treasures await. Every time I go I come back with another special memory, another glimpse of wildlife that otherwise I would never see.If you love nature I urge you to go

Good well managed site, although a couple of the hides could do with some attention. Hides are well positioned with picture boards showing likely sightings for the less informed (like me!). Good cafe, including hot meals, well kept loos and a reasonable sized car park. Can get quite busy, but not really a problem due to the size of the place. Disabled access to hides difficult, only one with a ramp. Great place for bird and nature lovers.

A large RSPB nature reserve at the foot of the Lake District. Stunning wildlife and views. Well maintained hides, large carpark and modern visitors centre with toilets. Narrow, bendy roads lead to the nature reserve, so I recommend taking it slow if driving in and out. There are activities for young children, such a pond dipping and bird feeder watching. The reserve is large and even though the paths are solid and well maintained, it can be a trek to some of the hides. I recommend using a wheelchair or mobility scooter to get around the site, if you have difficulty walking long distances.Friendly staff.

Beautiful nature reserve, very nice staff. I like the high platforms to observe the animals, comfortable hides, you can borrow binoculars. My daughter really enjoyed this place.

We've been coming to a Leighton Moss for many years on and off and have stayed in the area many times.Since the Visitor Centre was set up, many years ago, the visitor facilities are excellent. The reserve itself has some really good hides with extensive views over the marshes and lagoons. There are also several fine and easy trails laid out for people of differing mobility and ability. There's always a friendly and helpful word when you arrive and a good size car park, well laid out too, these days.We had a good walk round and enjoyed what we saw. It was a quiet late morning and afternoon for birds but it was good to visit here again, have some lunch in the cafe and after a bit of pondering, rejoin the RSPB. We've been members, more on than off over many years. It's worth it for free access and parking!! Thanks to all at Leighton Moss!!! Staff AND volunteers.....

Lovely place to visit. We had our dog with us so could only visit the public footpath and the hide just off the path, but the path was nice and well maintained, we enjoyed the walk and watching activity from the hide. Not a lot of activity on the very wet day we visited, but we saw an otter as well as coots, mallards, swans, grebe and cormorant etc, so it was worth the visit. The shop is dog friendly and we got takeaway coffee from the cafe, as dogs are not allowed in there.

A great place to visit. I'm a novice when it comes to bird watching, but managed to see a Bittern and 4 Marsh Harriers passing food mid flight. All the hides are easily accessible even with mobility scooters (which are available to hire at the venue). Great cafe and visitors shop. We'll worth a visit
