I quite often shop in Waitrose as I am happy with their food quality. But they need to do something for their customer toilets as are not clean and today one one was working out of 3 which has not been cleaned.

Ive lived in Harrogate since before the Waitrose opened and it used to be the go to place for good quality foods and friendly helpful service. However, In the last two years I have gone less and less because the staff are so rude and unhelpful. They walk around with their headsets on completely ignoring customers clearly needing help and when they finally deign to actually provide service it is done with grudging ill will. I can detail 5 experiences of bad service in the last 6 visits. Ive had enough! Go to M&S on Leeds road where staff could not be more helpful and the food has a decent shelf life unlike Waitrose. It is no surprise to me that John Lewis is going down the pan - it deserves to.

Worst service in a very long time. Went in late afternoon and hardly anything left and what was there was out of date that day and not reduced! And trying to find staff was impossible. Feel sorry for the staff that were on duty as not enough of them so getting lots of complaints.

Overall its good to shop there.Some prices are higher than avg and some are surprisingly cheaper.However I still prefer M&S over waitrose.Customer service is friendly.Parking space is good, however it has a very small exit lane.

Nice higher end quality supermarket.Similar in standards to M&S food hall.This is a reasonably small branch.It has its own car parking which is free for up to 2 hours.If you have their Waitrose card then you can also get a free hot drink (one per loyalty card per day) if you bring your own cup. Nice bonus.

Not sure who writes these reviews saying the store is inviting and ?spacious?. It?s completely dated. Lacks natural light, like being in a basement, feels dark, narrow aisles makes everything feel cluttered, it?s difficult to move past other shoppers. Everything is crammed in. M&S Oatlands or Lidl in Starbeck are much more one would expect of a modern supermarket, airy, wide aisles.My phone wouldn?t work in the store despite saying I had reception, I blame this on the self-service tills being quite deep in the store. This meant I couldn?t use my vouchers.Unless you?re disabled or have kids, parking bays are narrow and if you have a large car you?ll find it difficult accessing your vehicle if you have cars parked around you.The store is in a great location and John Lewis really need to do a complete overhaul of the site. In time I can see them losing market share to their competitors.In addition as polite as the partners are I still have not found shop staff as efficient and helpful as Lidl. I honestly find it a shame when you see staff standing around when it?s obvious shoppers are having problems. There is a lack of proactiveness by many partners. I cannot see how the financial model of this site works. Maybe I visited at a busy time, but I found the whole experience stressful and miserable and a free coffee isn?t enough to placate my feelings.

Good access and plenty parking, not the biggest store but seems to be well stocked, also handy to pop in for a few bits or a sandwich at lunch time as it's a stones throw from harrogate centre

Whilst it's often possible to buy products in Waitrose, not always available in other supermarkets, I was disappointed in the lack of gluten-free chilled or frozen products. Even basic products like gluten-free chips were not available. The manager told me it was because the store was classed as a small one?The free from breaded hake was excellent, though.
