Really friendly staff made up for a shocking meal. Burnt burger bun, dry burger and my wife had one of the smallest and fatty piece of gammon I've ever seen. Shame because the place is nice enough and the waitress tried her

Staff were lovely , shame about food. Plates from5 adults, 4 were sent back, insipid and limp chips and soggy batter resulted. No one asked if food was okay, how on earth do they monitor if food is hot enough. Will not be back

Went here for breakfast this week. Nice welcome and staff helpful but the actual breakfast is poor quality food and no healthy options. There was a bowl with some oranges, but the rest is low grade. The sausages didn?t even have a colour to them. The continental breakfast is lacking in items you might expect to find - so no cheeses or cold meats, no tomatoes or even nice bread rolls. The place itself is tired and needs a deep clean. It is what it is, but with other options nearby, it?s not a recommendation.

We had visited the previously as a large family so we accrued several vouchers for meals with the loyalty scheme, the first night the manager was working, every thing was fine but the second night was a disaster, we ordered the food which took about an hour and a half to be fully served, there was about 10 of us , 2 meals came out after about 20 minutes, but the wrong order , I approached the bar area several times to enquire on the food, to the end it just became a joke, the duty manager a young lady just said what could she do , she then blamed our party for not booking a table , ?!?! Don?t know why that was relevant, she then blamed us again for using the loyalty vouchers, another young lady tried to resolve the situation by offering a sweat or hot beverages, then another young lady chipped in by saying she was only 17 and didn?t get paid to resolve issues like this, I explained at NO point was any agressive or bad language used to which she said the fact I?d complained at the bar was not right, or something in that manor , I do think that the young 17 year old and the cook should keep there relationship behind closed doors, as it?s not professional kissing behind the bar and in from of customers, the food did eventually come out cold but by this time all faith was lost in the table table Dumfries, we visited Dumfries several times a year and this place will not be visited again, please if anyone from whitbreads wants to contact me please do so,

Friendly place, with a varied menu and all at very reasonable prices.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, it is wheelchair accessible and most of the tables are good to roll under. The toilets could be better though.

This Whitbread bar/restaurant is located on the outskirts of Dumfries, next to the town?s by-pass, and its core clientele are likely to be guests of the Premier Inn next door. We reserved a table for an evening meal via check-in at the Premier Inn in keeping with this arrangement. They share the car park which was quite busy during our visit. The menu provides a typical selection of bar meals ranging from a special ?meal deals? version to an a la carte one. At the time of our visit they were offering a 3 course meal for £15.99 for example. There was a reasonable selection of dishes to suit most tastes. On our visit we both opted to go a la carte and ordered the 8oz Sirloin Steak, served with chips/potatoes, tomato, onion rings and peas (£15.79) and selected a blue cheese sauce to accompany them (£1.79). The steaks were nicely cooked to our preference and were of good quality, as was the rest of the food. For dessert we had Sticky Toffee Pudding with ice cream (£6.59) and the Chocolate Layer Torte with sprinkles of freeze dried raspberries & raspberry sauce (£5.89). My wife enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding but the chocolate torte was a bit rich for my liking but that?s just a personal opinion - others may love it. My wife had a Gin & Tonic and I had a large glass of sauvignon blanc wine which added roughly £13 to the total bill of £60. Service was very pleasant from all the staff in our experience and the food was delivered in a nicely timed fashion. There were enough customers to provide a good ambiance and we retired to the bar area for an additional drink prior to heading back across to the hotel. The fact that our meal cost a little more than our overnight accommodation probably highlights why Whitbread will be happy to have the arrangement. Not gourmet dining but a decent enough bar meal.

Previous reviews mentioned that people weren't impressed but we would have to disagree. Family of 4 staying at Premier Inn next door, popped in for food the first night- service was good and friendly, food was good for the price, blue light discount was 25% off the food and not the whole bill. Second night popped in for a drink, little bit busy with it being NYE but still got served by 2 friendly people. Friendly towards our two children aswell.I just think from previous reviews they are under staffed when it is busy and are trying their best with the staff they have got.

Went for dinner with a group of friends one of whom was celebrating her 80th birthday. Had intended taking some candles but forgot them so spoke to our server who said she would see what could be done. When the desserts arrived our friend had candles added to hers and was presented with a box of chocolates. All the serving staff were excellent, smiling and friendly. The food was fine but it was the service which made this a great visit. Thank you.
