“Visited this place yesterday with my sister to close an old account. We were greeted by Rubi(who I think is a trainee) and Monica who tried to help us as much as possible. They could not find our account because of little details we provided but were very patient until weanaged to get more details. Later had some issues with a bank transfer so decided to give money in cash where we were assisted by Scott. Extremely happy with the service and the staff.”
“It's a normal branch. Includes Business teller. They have new staff which is a bit slower sometimes, but generally no wait or short wait. A solid branch overall.”
“Unlike where I am from. If you are in the bank before closing, they just prevent new entries but finish up with those inside. I was surprised to find out they ask you to leave but politely. The good thing is that I was able to resolve my problems the next day.”
“I am an international student that arrived in Edinburgh on the 10th of September 2022. The next morning I directly opened up a Bank of Scotland account through the mobile app.The application itself has a decent UI which was easy to navigate. However, the security verification was the phase where things get a little bit complicated. In short, I had problem setting up my account due to the pin and security code got lost in the mail...Along my waiting time, I withdrew cash through BoS's branches and they were super helpful. There was a time where I only had BP50 and I was allowed to withdraw it. In the process of my tuition fee payment, BoS's staff were guiding and accompanying me throughout the process.Due to the high amount of payment, there were security measures being implemented and got sorted in the end of the day. It took me one and half hour for the process and personally, I had a pleasant experience. Thank you for your service.”

“Toni. Toni, Toni, Toni! She was so helpful, kind and supportive. I had just arrived in Scotland and was rushing around trying to get everything done. Toni calmly, and kindly listened to my requests, talked me through what TSB has to offer and made me feel much better about choosing them as a bank. It's obvious that they were understaffed, but Toni coped amazingly with the line up of people, made them feel welcomed and heard. Thanks Toni! Ill be coming back to you when I need an in-person branch visit.”
“TLDR - if you're dealing with Barclays and are in Edinburgh, just go to the branch. Nothing else works.Disclaimer here - Barclays as a whole; awful, but the Edinburgh staff were great.I've had a HTB ISA for a few years, just needed the statement, then it paid out and the documents.I'll start by highlighting that their app barely ever functions, I've had historic issues but in this particular instance I just needed a statement. I couldn't get this through the app because that functionality wasn't working and couldn't get it through the online portal for the same reason. Eventually resolved, but pretty frustrating (did ask for documents to be posted me, they never arrived). Then called to close out my ISA, fair while on the phone but seemed like there was progress and then the line cut, so nothing happened.Went into the Edinburgh branch, they were very busy but they helped me close out everything pretty swiftly, was told I'd receive my closing statement in a few days...shocker - 20 days later I've still not received anything.Went into the branch again, they were super busy again but managed to give me the documents in person with a smile after a wee wait.My address has been the same since I opened the account, and I did have someone on the digital channel tell me that they'd sent me everything, but it's a bit bizarre that I receive all my expected mail but somehow nothing from them. I'd avoid banking with them in the future purely based on inconvenience, but again Edinburgh staff were great and wouldn't want to give less stars for them.”
