Plenty of parking with access straight into shop and cafe area. There is also a bus stop so if travelling by bus can get off right outside. Tickets are reasonable and the site is dog friendly. Cafe area is nice and has a good menu selection for food and drinks. The gardens themselves wow. So many different areas to explore with shelters throughout. The viewpoint is well worth the steep climb. The fernery is a beautiful building with some interesting plants. The golden gates are worn a little but still very pretty. You will easily spend the full day here pack a picnic and enjoy it out in the gardend. We visited during winter and still some spots of colour and maintenance was ongoing hope to visit again in the summer.

The trails and views were fantastic. There were a few challenging trails and some fairly easy trails. The scenery changed throughout the walks. This is a good place to unwind after a busy day or spend the whole day to soak it all in. The trails weren't crowded at all.

Tues. Bus from Dunoon to Benmore. Was close as they had 3 days floods. Still most amazing Pete & Susie took us to Glucks Glen Trial, inside forest just infront. Wonders of waterfalls. Brilliant in Sound & Colour. Excellent Experience. ????

One of the most beautiful botanical gardens in all of Scotland for sure.Spend hours of taking walks through the garden and decide for yourself if you simply want to stay down and enjoy the serenity on the lower level, or if you?d like to climb up the hills a bit to enjoy views and get the blood pumping. You could as well just have a coffee and a cake at the cute food truck right at the entrance.

We went early on a Friday morning to Benmore Botanic Garden and had a nice quiet walk around the beautiful gardens before it got busy. When you pay for your ticket you will be issued a map of the gardens which was quite handy. These gardens have probably the best sign posted maps all across the vast area which where a big help. The scenery from the viewpoint is very impressive and it was not to strenuous a climb to the top. They are working on the lovely long lined tree entrance so we could not walk up the grass which was unfortunate. There is a path highlighted on the map for wheelchair and buggy users which misses out alot of the higher walks but still a beautiful walk all the same. There is food food and tea/coffee at the entrance and also a toilet. We will be back again in the next few years.

When I arrived an hour after opening I expected it to be busy but there were only a handful of cars parked. I could have easily spent a day in this wonderful place, I was camping in the area so thought I'd pay a visit. I have visited many gardens in the North east of England but this beats anywhere I've previously been. It has a semi wild feel to it and within 5 minutes of being there I had seen red squirrels and a greater spotted woodpecker at close quarters. Too much to write about here but the best few quid I've spent in a long time, I could have spent another few days there just wandering and taking in the sights and sounds. Oh and get the salmon and cream cheese bagel with chips on the side, best chips I've had in ages (and I make great chips!). Highly recommend.

Wow! Absolutely amazing! We spent a lovely day at Benmore Botanic Garden today and were simply blown away! Jaw dropping scenery at every turn and lots of really useful and interesting information signage. Amazing value for money too and gorgeous food at the cafe. Highly recommended!

Benmore was amazing. I spent 3 hours wandering up and down the beautiful pathways with my dog. It was a very damp murky day but it just added to the atmosphere. Really did feel like I was in a Rainforest! And I had it to myself for the first 90 minutes or so. Red squirrels galore and even saw some deer. So peaceful and relaxing.

Loved my visit, way to spend a full day here with plenty to see and explore. The gardens cover a huge area and have been landscaped to represent different areas of the world and the result is stunning.there are toilets on site. I saw a couple of people walking dogs . There are some lovely places for picnics. I could easily have spent a full day there, and I still feel like I haven't seen everything. I must return , I can easily see this becoming a regular place for a walk just to take the beauty in. The giant redwoods are a sight to behold and photographs do not do justice to the sheer size of them, but they are only the start of what this place has to offer , visit you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful gardens, we loved the Avenue of Sequoia trees planted over 150 years ago. The walk up to viewing points was good exercise and rewarded with spectacular views over the Glen and back to the sea. The refurbished fernery showed off the intriguing plants really well. And to cap it off we saw 2 red squirrels.Dog-friendliness: The park was full of dog walkers.

Beautiful place, plenty to see including the wildlife. Nature at it's best. Dogs allowed. For those with disabilities, wheelchairs there is a lower road (just follow the oranges signs) and for the more athletic type take the higher lanes which lead you to the stunning views. Do look for the golden gates, I recommend a visitRestrooms: The restrooms are just outside the café/shop & are very clean.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed but signs do state" dogs permitted on short leads only"Picnic area: Small area with approx 8 tables under a shelter but café is right next to the car park. There is a shop where you can buy things plus the lady on the counter was very informative and friendly.

Incredible garden in a unique and beautiful setting. As the gardens are set on a hillside there are very steep, uneven and challenging pathways which will only suit certain people. For those less abled but there are some accessible routes which provide access to the lower parts of the garden. The majority of the garden is dog friendly though the buildings and certain areas are not. All specimens clearly labelled and some very impressive and mature plants and trees to see. Allow several hours and have great fitness/stamina if you're planning to see the whole thing!

The other half and I had a great time here. We arrived early in the day which was a good idea as it meant we almost had the place to ourselves. We didn't manage to see the entirety of the garden as we were there on a hot, humid day and were dripping with sweat about halfway up the hill but we will definitely be back to see the rest. I would particularly like to visit when the rhododendrons are in full bloom.
