“Went for a driving license renewal in June 2022. I had no letter from DVLA but all you need is your old photo driving license. The lady who looked after me was excellent and the process was all done on a tablet/Ipad including the taking of a new photo. The process is painless although a little slow but this is purely the speed on the Ipad and the DVLA connection site. The overall service for me was great. You can do this process online yourself but you need a valid passport which I don't have. The new license came in 5 days.”
