I urge anyone to double-check their postage when sending items from this amateur Post Office. I have had three complaints from ebay members stating that the postage used wasn't enough. After further investigation, it transpires that Rothwell post office had mistakenly used 2p stamps instead of 2nd large. Totally Incompetent staff. Avoid this Post Office.

Closed due to building work with a scruffy hand written notice saying they'll be open when the work is finished. No indication of when this will be. Can't the builders give a clue?

Amazing Post Office with wide range of services. Hard working staff has to handle so many different kinds of requests from often not so courteous customers. Yet opened all through the pandemic serving the community against all odds. People writing negative reviews are reminded that this branch is the last remaining Mains in the locality, so support it not smear it with bad reviews. Cause the customers are the one to suffer if this shuts

I visit here quite frequently and it's one of the only post offices in the area that doesn't close for lunch. Having said that though I've only ever seen 2 staff members here which means only one person covering over lunch time. I get it though, staff need their lunches too so if you visit during lunch you will always find a queue to the door and a long wait. This is not the place to go if you are expecting outstanding customer service or staff willing to go the extra mile.Never seen any rudeness but one staff member on several occasions has stopped serving people to answer the phone, or answered while serving people and stood there having a phone conversation, made people wait and then carried on serving once the phone call has ended.I once saw a man ask for a tiny bit of Sellotape so that they could make sure a package was properly sealed. This was declined. The man serving told him that they did not have any Sellotape (even though there was some on a shelf behind him) and that he would need to purchase some Sellotape if he wanted to reinforce the seal. I understand that it is the customers responsibility to make sure packages and letters are sealed correctly but it doesn't harm you to go that extra mile and help someone out.Lots of office and stationary products inside that are on a fair price. But be careful if you buy anything from the shop and pay on card, they will run it through as a cash withdrawal as if you are taking money out of your account or from a cash machine. This means you can't use contactless and it will show on your bank account as a cash withdrawal which is a little bit sketchy. I've never seen any other post office do this and I do wonder how they actually make money from this.

My husband and I went in on 18th March to renew our passports with the digital service. The staff were friendly and very efficient and thoroughly explained the process. We have received our new passports today (23rd March),excellent service service.

Absolutely appalling customer service . Nasty attitude, condescending, patronising, he swears at customers , made a racist comment to me ; will never go into this post office again !!!??? and I have witnesses , all the other customers were appalled by his attitude.

The negative reviews are accurate.I was given only one option to post a letter that?s recorded (or signed for) there was no reason why they only offered this one.Looking at their price guide now, I could have posted my letter for a third of the price to be signed for but I wasn?t made aware of this at the time.The guy behind the counter was quite awkward and rude.I?ll make a formal complaint if this happens again, and so should anyone else that has these similar problems. There?s no need for it!

Was not satisfied with the service. I will not tell what the problem is and write a lot of text. judging by the answers of the company, they have excuses for everything, but really it?s harder to take and deal with your problems than to make excuses and blame others for everything. God forbid you need to make a complaint or raise an issue. DEFENSIVE RUDE ARROGANT franchise owner who obliterates the Royal Mail brand. In front of the customers declares that "Problem with me is I don't get believed here" Perhaps you need to examine that the issue may lay with you! Looking at previous reviews on here - there is a theme. Other notable phrases expressed to me werre "Buying stamps does not do the local post office any favours" "the post office people don't get paid" "we are on zero wages we don't work for anyone this is private premises" "no right for customers to be here" "private franchise not owned by Government" "you buy stamps we get paid less so you are not doing your local community any favours". Whether I was right or wrong in the 'issue' I raised [I say that as a point of fairness] this was the WORST customer experience. The best that can happen is the Royal Mail realises it has a problem with this franchise and hopefully monitors google reviews. Clearly the 'owner' monitors them which says he is are aware he has an issue. Lets see how long it takes him to comment. With regards to Rothwell I suspect many customers feel the samre but if they witness what took place with myself and others they will be too fearful to speak up and fear getting banned.

If I could I wouldn't give any stars. They obviously can't take any sort of criticism and have to make up lies to make themselves feel better about the horrendous customer service they provide. All people have to do is check these reviews and they speak for themselves. They seem to like to blame the customer for everything and cannot take responsibility for anything.As for the claim that it was £600 in coins, that is completely false as it was me that tried to deposit it, it was £20 lose change and £430 in notes. I just said that was fine and I just deposited the notes, didnt make a scene or anything. I have no idea why you think its acceptable to try make a customer look bad, you gave me no other option and as natwest is closed for the foreseeable, unfortunately this post office is the only other alternative around rothwell.Rothwell post office should be avoided if possible.Imagine a company being rude to customers when they are reviewing, any other company would take these reviews on board and try make improvements, but not this post office, I find them rather defensive and unapproachable.Rude customer service, horrible staff.I'll look forward to their poor excuses and fully expect them to try and defend themselves and make up lies about how it was the customers fault.Will never be using this post office again.IMAGINE BEING ACCUSED OF USING DIFFERENT IDS TO REVIEW AN AWFUL COMPANY, LIKE I HAVE TIME FOR THAT. CANT 2 PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME SURNAME?I never once argued with you about it, I cant believe that a professional company has the audacity to make false claims without a shred of evidence. How dare you. This place will soon go under, with an attitude like that. I think its rather pathetic that you can't handle criticism and you go on the defense.Hilarious.Alot of businesses have stayed open during covid, they still have good customer service. Been to put money in bank as natwest was shut once again. Needed to put loose change in as was told I couldn't put the money in. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired very unfriendly. Didn?t come with 600 of loose coins it was 20 of Mostly £1 not as you suggest. Customer service is rubbish and are very rude. If I was in my car would of traveled to Carlton post office nothing is too much trouble for them

Attended the post office today. There were was a massive queue which went round the shop. Stood there for what seemed ages and then gave up. The queue never moved. One lady was posting something like twenty parcels. Only one member of staff was serving customers which just isn?t enough. I will use the other local ones in the future.
